Wheel Adapters

Custom fitting your truck with new tires sometimes requires wheel adapters.  So what are wheel adapters?

Sometimes your new wheels don't quit fit your truck.  If so, a wheel adapter might be needed to ensure a proper fit.  Below are some examples of when you might need them:

 - Switching from a 8 lug to a 10 lug wheel.

 - Fitting a wheel with a different hub diameter onto your truck.

 - proper spacing of your custom wheels.

 - custom dually wheels.

Be sure to get your adapters from the same place you are getting your new wheels to ensure they are the proper adapter for your application.   For example, some online stores will let you know in advance that you will need certain adapters or lug nuts for a specific wheel/vehicle combination.

Also, make sure you are using a trusted brand.  Adapters can change the way your wheels and tires perform, possible impact steering, and cause adjustments to be made in towing.  Go with a well known brand to ensure that the proper engineering and testing has been done.
